How does a movie matching puzzle work?
In Cast Six, all six movie titles and six category clues are visible. Each film must fill a different category. A film may fit several clues, so individual correct-looking matches must also work as a complete lineup.
How do overlapping clues work?
Imagine one film fits both “Comedy” and “1990s,” while another fits only “Comedy.” Placing the flexible film in “1990s” leaves “Comedy” available for the other film. Apply that reasoning across all six movies.
This is an illustrative strategy, not an answer to today’s puzzle.
Three ways to reason through the board
Start with a strong match
Find a familiar movie and a clue you are confident it fits. Check whether that movie also needs to serve another category before committing.
Keep options open
When a film fits two categories, look at the remaining movies. Give the flexible film the category that would otherwise be hardest to fill.
Review the full lineup
Before submitting a take, check all six placements together. Each movie can be used once, and you have three submitted takes.
What if I get stuck?
A Director’s note places one correct match for a permanent 150-point deduction without using a take. Up to three notes are available in a round. See the full rules and scoring guide.
Do I need to be a film expert?
Familiar genres, decades, actors and directors can give you a starting point. The warm-up below teaches the controls with simple story clues before you try the daily game’s factual categories.
Can I play more than once a day?
Yes. The anytime library and past daily archive offer more rounds. Return each day for a new shared daily puzzle; only daily wins extend the daily streak.
